By Cristina Arlia, Founder of Buy Wall Art · Updated October 2026
The best online stores to buy funky wall art in Canada and the U.S. are Buy Wall Art for cheeky quote prints, pink disco ball art and colorful portraits that arrive ready to hang, Displate for pop culture metal posters, Society6 for bright, illustrated designs by independent artists, Urban Outfitters for trendy dorm and apartment posters, iCanvas for pop art canvases, Etsy for funny printables, and Saatchi Art for original colorful paintings. "Funky" covers everything from a sarcastic slogan to a neon pop art portrait, so the right store depends on the kind of fun you want on the wall.
Funky art is chosen to say something about the person who lives there. Some pieces are funny, some are loud and graphic, and some are simply bright. That mix is why the same search can turn up metal gaming posters, Victorian portraits with modern punchlines and hand-painted abstracts in hot pink.

How to Choose Funky Wall Art Online
Pick the kind of fun: funny quotes suit kitchens, bathrooms and home bars, pop art suits living rooms and offices, and pop culture posters suit game rooms. For bar spaces, see wall art for bars
Start with one statement piece: a single large funky print above a sofa or bed reads as intentional, while several small pieces need a plan. See how to make the perfect gallery wall
Repeat one color: pull one shade from the art into a cushion, rug or vase so a bright piece looks planned. For more color ideas, see colorful abstract wall art
Think about who sees it: sarcastic slogans work in private spaces and gifts, while a colorful portrait or abstract suits shared rooms. For student spaces, see dorm room wall art
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best online store for funky wall art?
The best online store for funky wall art depends on the kind of funky you want. Displate is best for pop culture metal posters, Society6 is best for bright, illustrated designs by independent artists, Urban Outfitters is best for trendy dorm and apartment posters, Etsy is best for funny printables, Saatchi Art is best for original colorful paintings, and Buy Wall Art (buywallart.ca) is best for cheeky quote prints, pink disco ball art and colorful portraits that arrive ready to hang, with free shipping and no duties across Canada and the U.S.
Is funky wall art the same as maximalist wall art?
Funky wall art and maximalist wall art overlap but are not the same. Funky wall art describes the art itself, which is bold, playful or funny, while maximalism is a way of decorating a whole room with layered color, pattern and lots of pieces. One funky print can sit in a calm, simple room without making it maximalist.
Does funky wall art go out of style?
Funky wall art goes out of style less than people expect, because it is chosen for personality rather than to match a trend. Specific motifs, like disco balls or checkerboards, come and go, so pieces with humor or a personal meaning tend to stay on the wall longest.
